The Lord is not slack to fulfil his promise, as some men count slackness: but is patient to us ward, and would have no man lost, but would receive all men to repentance.

and the man was a man of activity ...doing and accomplishing many things ...
even doing "favors" for people ...to gain their friendship ...or friend shi_ for his own advantage ... or his own "feeling" of self worth ...
and that for he had not a heart for anyone ...except advantage for himself ...
even all the "good" they he did ...was for his own pride and honoring of himself ...
and he basked in the glory of the praises of others for his cunning works sake ...
and his value as a person was based on what he had done for others ...
and their admiration and acclamation they offered ...
and nothing else. PERIOD
and scripture came back to remembrance ...

And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me. Whosoever will save his life, shall lose it. Submit your selves to God, and resist the devil, and he will fly from you. Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands ye sinners, and purge your hearts ye wavering minded. Suffer afflictions: sorrow ye and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Cast down yourselves before the Lord, and he shall lift you up. Backbite not one another, brethren. He that backbiteth his brother, and he that judgeth his brother, backbiteth the law, and judgeth the law. But and if thou judge the law, thou art not an observer of the law: but a judge. There is one law giver, which is able to save and to destroy. What art thou that judgest another man?
Go to now ye that say: today and tomorrow let us go into such a city and continue there a year and buy and sell, and win: and yet cannot tell what shall happen tomorrow. For what thing is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away: For that ye ought to say: if the Lord will and if we live, let us do this or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings. All such rejoicing is evil. Therefore to him that knoweth how to do good, and doth it not, to him it is sin*advouterers: a-devouter; the prefix a meaning not or without; a (not) devotion, here to husband, elsewhere to the truth, Christ , God our father. This is not adultery as found in most other "bibles". The proof is that the word "adultery" is found plainly in chapter 2 PP 3 above and Yet here is advouterers, same writer, same book
THE FIRST EPISTLE OF ST. JOHN Chpt 2
See that ye love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him.
