The Book of Jeremy the Prophet
In those days shall Judah be helped, and Jerusalem shall dwell safe, **and he that shall call her is even God our righteousness maker. **(kjv = our righteousness.) For thus the Lord promiseth: David shall never want one, to sit upon the stool of the house of Israel: neither shall the priests the Levites want one to offer always before me burnt offerings, to kindle the meat offerings, and to prepare the sacrifices.
NIV 15 "`In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David's line; he will do what is just and right in the land.16 In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it [1] will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.'17 For this is what the LORD says: `David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,18 nor will the priests, who are Levites, ever fail to have a man to stand before me continually to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to present sacrifices.'"
KJV 15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.17 For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;18 Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
NASB 15 "In those days and at that time I will cause a <*1> righteous Branch of David to spring forth; and He shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth.16 "In those days <*3> Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will dwell in safety; and this is the name by which she will be called: the <*4> LORD is our righteousness.'17 ""For thus says the LORD, "[1] David shall <*5> never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;18 [2] and the <*6> Levitical priests shall never lack a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to prepare sacrifices [3] continually.'''
RSV 15 In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring forth for David; and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.16 In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: 'The LORD is our righteousness.'17 "For thus says the LORD: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,18 and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man in my presence to offer burnt offerings, to burn cereal offerings, and to make sacrifices for ever."
DARBY 15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause a Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell in safety. YLT (youngs lose trans) 15 In those days, and at that time, I cause to shoot up to David a shoot of righteousness, And he hath done judgment and righteousness in the earth.16 In those days is Judah saved, And Jerusalem doth dwell confidently, And this [is] he whom Jehovah proclaimeth to her:`Our Righteousness.'17 For thus said Jehovah: `Not cut off to David is one sitting on the throne of the house of Israel,18 And to the priests -- the Levites, Not cut off from before Me is one, Causing a burnt-offering to ascend, And perfuming a present, and making sacrifice -- all the days.'
NKJV 15"In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.16In those days Judah will be saved, And Jerusalem will dwell safely. Douay (catholic) 15 In those days, in that time, I will raise up for David a just shoot; he shall do what is right and just in the land.16 In those days Judah shall be safe and Jerusalem shall dwell secure; this is what they shall call her: "The LORD our justice." 17 For thus says the LORD: Never shall David lack a successor on the throne of the house of Israel, 18 nor shall priests of Levi ever be lacking, to offer holocausts before me, to burn cereal offerings, and to sacrifice victims. This word of the LORD also came to Jeremiah:
