Dearly beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, how that one day is with the Lord, as a thousand year, and a thousand year as one day. The Lord is not slack to fulfil his promise, as some men count slackness: but is patient to us ward, and would have no man lost, but would receive all men to repentance.

and i was taken and shown an aged homeless man ...
and he walked about in the dread desperate dark places of the economically destroyed ...where the bodies and souls of men were merchandised ...
and there was dust and dirt and filth and darkness everywhere ...from the robbing ...and wasting of the place ...
nevertheless the homeless man as he went about ...he repaired what places he could ...
and fixed windows and doors ...that might keep people or things safe ...
Now it came to pass that as he was fixing a door ...two young men came upon him ...
and the young men laughed him to scorn ...of his trying to repair such a place as was so wasted ...
evenso the young men thought there might be something of worth in the old place ...
and so they fought with the old man ...for his hammer ...to take it away from him ...
even as he warned them not to do such a thing ...
and the old homeless mans hammer went flying ...
and the old homeless man went after it ...
and the young men laughed him more to scorn ...and took other tools of his and broke into the place ...that the old homeless man was trying to repair ...
and all and all the time the old homeless man warning the young men not to do such a thing ...for their sakes ...
even so the young men would not listen ...
and continued in their breaking in ...
Now there was a might stirring and rushing and the police came ...
and the young men ran and narrowly escaped ...
and the homeless old man ...was left alone ...for police knew of his repairing ...and fixing ...
and anon (after a while ) the young men came back around the old homeless man again ...
and the old homeless man welcomed them warmly ...(even thought they had attacked him before ) ...
and the old homeless man began to tell the young men ...how that doing right ...even in the worst of times ...is needed...
and that God and Christ look upon the rightness in a persons heart ...
and is able to keep his people safe and saved ...
and of the young men that heard these things ...some received ...
and some received a little ...
and some received nothing ...
and scripture came back to remembrance ...
THE REVELATION OF ST JOHN Chpt 18
And the kings of the earth shall beweep her and wail over her, which have committed fornication with her, and have lived wantonly with her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, and shall stand afar off, for fear of her punishment, saying . Alas, Alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city: for at one hour is her judgment come. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and wail in themselves, for no man will buy their ware any more, the ware of gold and silver, and precious stones, neither of pearl, and raynes and purple, and scarlet, and all thine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass and of iron, and cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If you shalt not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and thou shall not know what hour I will come upon thee. You hast a few names in Sardis, which have not defiled their garments: and they shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy. He that overcometh shall be clothed in white array, and I will not put out his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my father, and before his Angels. Let him that hath ears, hear, what the spirit sayth unto the congregations.
Then two shall be in the fields, the one shall be received, and the other shall be refused, two shall be grinding at the mill the one shall be received, and the other shall be refused. Wake therefore, because ye know not what hour your master will come.
As the time of Noe was, so likewise shall the coming of the son of man be. For as in the days before the flood: they did eat and drink, marry, and were married, even unto the day that Noe entered in to the ship, and knew of nothing, till the flood came and took them all away: So shall also the coming of the son of man be.
