and i was taken and shown an image of a black horse ...
and the head thereof ...
and the head of it was compassed by darkness ...
even a circle of blackness ...roundabout like a wheel ...
and the image and the head and the wheel thereof was terrible to look upon ...
and within ...within and roundabout is became as pieces of the same ...
even so all remained within ...remained within the same circle ...
and the circle and the head and all that was within ...began to move ...
and they went to a place like a vast plains ...of wheat ...
even where a great harvest might be prepared ...
and scripture came to remembrance ...
Moreover I turned me, lifting up mine eyes, and looked: and behold, there came four chariots out from between two hills, which hills were of brass: In the first chariot were red horse, in the second chariot were black horse, in the third chariot were white horse, in the fourth chariot were horses of diverse color and strong. Then spake I and said unto the angel that talked with me: O' Lord, what are these: The angel answered, and said unto me: These are the four winds of heaven, which be come forth to stand before the ruler of all the earth. That with the black horse *wite in to the land of the north, and the white horse followed them, and the speckled horses went forth toward the south. These horses were very strong, and went out: and sought to go and take their journey over the whole earth. And he said: get you hence, and go through the world. So they went throughout the world. And when he opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say: come and see. And I beheld, and lo, a black horse: and he that sat on him, had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say: a measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny: and oil and wine see thou hurt not. And when he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say: come and see. And I looked. And behold a green horse, and his name that sat on him, was death, and hell followed after him, and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, that cometh of vermin of the earth.
