and i was taken and shown ...like a vast construction site ...sight ...
and the building of broad highways ...
even through the mountains of the highest ...
nevertheless the high ways builded with mens hands were all gravel ...
and none could drive on them ...least they slip off the high ways of man ...
and fall down the mountains of the highest ...
and there were many that tried to make their way ...their own way up ...up ...
and roundabout on the mountain of the highest ...
never the less ...all every each one ...became stuck ..and feared for their life ...
even on the very edge of falling ...
even afraid to come out of the devices ...they used to go up the mountain of the highest ...
even so unto the end ...of the road ...
and the scene ...seeing changed ...and was like a place of raging activity ...
even like rush hour ...or a campus ...at class change ...
and there was a scurrying and running into one another ...
and a pressing and pushing ...and climbing over and above each other ...
and down paths and side ...walks ...one in front ...one faster ...pushing more than the other ...
and a throwing of themselves at doors ...
and openings ...
and anything whereby ...where buy ...whereof ...any might get over on another ...
even in all un rightness ...of aggression ...lies ...cheating ...pretending ...acting ...
even in the use of any and all immeasurable vile deceptions ...cunning ...manipulations ...
and even in the hiding behind locked doors any thought their wickedness ...was hidden ...
even so no door would stay locked ...
and every wretched wicked thing ...was shown ...
and many yawned at such ...
and that for they counted nothing of God and Christ ...or spirit or truth ...to be worth anything ...
and only their own works and ways and imaginations ...did they count as worth while ...
and anything that made money ...no matter how wretched ...was justified ...was licensed ...and was promoted ...
even to the end ...
and scripture came back to remembrance ...
THE GOSPELL OF ST. MATTHEW Chpt 7
Enter in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction: and many there be which go in thereat. But strait is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life: and few there be that find it. Beware of false Prophets, which come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns? Or figs of briars? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit. But a corrupt tree, bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth bad fruite: nor yet a bad tree can bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Not all they that say unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter in to the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth my fathers will which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not in thy name Prophesied? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name have done many miracles? And then will I knowledge unto them that I never knew them. Depart from me, ye workers of iniquity.
Whosoever heareth of me these sayings and doeth the same, I will liken him unto a wise man which built his house on a rock: and abundance of rain descended, and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that same house, and it fell not, because it was grounded on the rock. And whosoever heareth of me these sayings and doth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man which built his house upon the land: and abundance of rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.
And it came to pass, that when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were *astonied at his doctrine. For he taught them as one having power, and not as the scribesYe speak hard words against me, sayeth the Lord. And yet ye say: What have we spoken against thee? Ye have said.
It is lost labor, to serve God? What profit have we for keeping his commandments, and for walking humbly before the Lord of hosts? Therefore may we say, that the proud are happy, and that they which deal with ungodliness, are set up: for they temp God and yet escape.
But they that fear God, say thus one to another: the Lord considereth and heareth it. Yee it is before him a memorial book, written for such as fear the Lord, and remember his name. And in the day that I will make ( sayeth the Lord of hosts ) they shall be mine own possession: and I will favor them, like as a man favoreth his own son, that doth him service. Turn you therefore, and consider what difference is between the righteous and the ungodly: between him that serveth God, and him that serveth him not.
For mark, the day cometh that shall burn as an oven: and all the proud, yee and all such as do wickedness, shall be straw: and the day that is for to come, shall burn them up ( sayeth the Lord of hosts ) so that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
But unto you that fear my name, shall the Son of righteousness arise, and health shall be under his wings: ye shall go forth, and multiply as the fat calves. Ye shall tread down the ungodly: for they shall be like the ashes under the soles of your feet, in the day that I shall make, sayeth the Lord of hosts.
Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Oreb for all Israel, with the statutes and ordinances. Behold, I will send you Elias the prophet: before the coming of the day of the great and fearful Lord. He shall turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, that I come not and smite the earth with cursing
