and i was taken within ...within an house of a man ...and shown the measures of matters thereof ...
and the house was like an house that ever was ...and now the same ..save more ...and less ...better and worse ...evenso unto the end ...
and within ...the house the man had a wife and daughters ...or wife and a daughter ...and these were in and of the house ..and all of that was within ...within these was within the house ...
and the wife and daughters went about the house in all things ...thereof or therein ...
Now it came to pass the the wife and daughter ..or daughters ...(for i only was shown one... yet are there more ...) ...they wanted to bring a dog into the house ...(though they knew it not worthy ...and unwanted of the husband ...for to bring a dog into the house )
Nevertheless ... so and so ...by and by the wife and daughter ...brought forth a dog ...and the dog came into the house ...by way of the kitchen ...again though they knew it to be against the pleasing of the husband and father ...
and so it was that the door was opened to the dog ...by the wife and daughters ...and the dog did make its way into the house ...secretly ...into the room of the making of that which the family ate ...
Now and again unknown to the man ...for he was in the front part of the house ...
and as the man was about ...his ...his house (or so it was said his house ) ...did he hear his wife and daughter scream ...
and at the hearing of the screaming ...did the man rush to the kitchen ...(where all things that the family might eat were ...prepared) ...
and as the man came into the place ...where the wife and daughters had come together ...and brought in the dog ...
there did the man see the dog ...coming in the house ...and thought that it was what the wife and daughters were screaming over and about ...
Yet none to his surprise ...the womans ...all screamed at once ...
and yet to his surprise ...they screamed not against the dog ...yet against the cockatrice that had come attached to the dog ...
that cockatrice that had come the way of the dog ...into the mans house ...
and the cockatrice was huge and deadly black of darkness looking ...
and the last i was shown ...the last shown to me ...was the man removing the dog from his house ...cockatrice and all ...
and if the man saved the dog from the cockatrice ...i was not shown ....
neither was i shown whether the man was given to kill the cockatrice ...
nevertheless in the end ...neither dog nor cockatrice was to enter in ...within any house of any man ...
no not one ...by any whosoever ...would let anything unworthy into a mans house ...
and of the dog ....
