in an instant after prayerfull of heart going to rest ...rest from the world of the worldly and the wickedness thereof ...fleeing unto God my father and to my Jesus ...Lord and brother and keeper of mine heart before God ...
and of very much disquietness ...sought i rest ...of only God and Christ ...of whom only rest is ...
Now in an instant (as said before)...and been before ...was shown me a babe ...and the babe was sitting ...near unto a couch ...of stuffed pillows ...a toddler sitting there with his back to the couch ...
and all round about him ...other children played and ran and jumped and like whirlwinds ...springgales ...all roundabout this child that sat only with his back to the couch ...
and the child that sat there ...i wondered mightily over him...for he seemed not to enjoy the playing of the other children ...neither did he have any part in their fun and running and jumping chasing and being chased ...and i wondered ...for the why of this ...before God and Christ with all my heart ...for my heart went out to him ...this little child that just sat there ...even in the very midst of the other children ...all playing ...yet he did not ...play ...
Now i was moved and so did look right upon the child and into his very eyes ...the windows of his soul ...and did see such a wonder there as never i have seen before ...for he was so innocent ...so very innocent ...and his eyes seemed to no bottom ...like looking into a well of waters ...so clear and deep ...and pure of all things ...
and i was astounded ...and shaken as i looked upon the child ...
and i prayed the more ...of heartfullness and soulfullness before God and Christ ...as to the why this child was so ...so as he was ...and the why of him not playing ...
and in an instant it was shown me ...without speaking ...that Behold this one is DEAF ...and i was mourning of heart ..over him ...
Now when God and Christ knew of this ...in an instant ...like a jolt ...a moving ...shook both me and the child ...
and i was astounded ...for was shown me the child ...did hear ...only not the things of the world ...and neither the playing of the other children ...
and that he was not sad of not playing ...only he was at peace ...for the joy of God and Christ ...was within him ...
and of this and all measures of matters were shown me of this child ...the more as i looked the more into his eyes ...the windows of his soul ...where the mighty works of God and Christ are blessed upon any ...
